In 2005, Golden Fresh becomes the first seafood company in Malaysia to be awarded the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)’s Chain of Custody certification.
Golden Fresh utilizes raw material from three certified fisheries - South African Hake , Alaska Pollock and New Zealand Hoki to produce MSC value-added seafood under our Pacific West global brand.
The first Pacific West- branded MSC product introduced to Malaysia and Singapore in 2008 as Deep Sea Frosty Fish.
In 2010, Golden Fresh launches three additional MSC products to the ‘kids’ market - Figgy (Fish with Cornflakes), Wiggy (Fish with Oatmeal) and Ziggy (Fish with Multigrain).
In 2011, Pacific West Foods Australia releases an MSC-accredited Tempura Hake produced by Golden Fresh, marketed under the brand for the food service sector. The Australian retail division follows up with a range of MSC Tempura Alaska Pollock and MSC Beer Battered Alaska Pollock.
In the same year, Pacific West Foods United Kingdom and Pacific West Foods France emulate their Australian counterparts and launch with a range of MSC Tempura Hake.
Riding on the success of the MSC Tempura Hake, Pacific West Foods United Kingdom introduces the Sea-Frozen Hand-Cut Tempura Hoki in 2012.
